On top of being the region’s financial hub, Singapore is best known as a smart city with highly advanced technologies and a vibrant startup community. As the country’s government and citizens embrace the era of digitalization, various small enterprises are focusing on robotics and drone technology.

With the H3 Dynamics team

Headed by a group of successful startup entrepreneurs, H3 Dynamics is focused on energy storage advanced robotics, field communications, digital services and real-time analytics. Aiming to be a global leader, the company chose Singapore for its base because of its global reputation as a business friendly location.

“As a startup, H3 Dynamics is trying to create a tech ecosystem and become a global leader and an example for other companies that want to become startups and venture out,” Founder and CEO Taras Wankewycz said.

H3 Dynamics builds unmanned drones for military and civilian uses. While the military side creates bigger value and revenue, its non-military segment generates larger volume. Commercial sales are its the fastest growing segment with bigger potential. The company works with multinationals like IBM and develops different that cater to a diverse range of industries. With offices in Singapore, France and the US, H3 Dynamics hopes to expand in more countries and form more partnerships.

Meanwhile, Garuda Robotics aims to deliver the latest technologies in robotics and AI to Asia’s traditional industries like agriculture, infrastructure and security. Across all industries, the company plans to use big data and drones to develop sustainable, efficient and more cost effective processes.

Garuda Robotics focuses on agricultural applications in Malaysia and Indonesia and targets infrastructure in Singapore and Japan. Because talent in this new industry is hard to find, the company set up its own training camp, in collaboration with the government, to train needed personnel. The camp has since attracted much attention and has received a lot of inquiries from overseas start just only a month after opening.

“Singapore is a great place to start something because we are designed to be a hub. We use this leadership position to branch out to other countries to build thriving businesses and change the way things are done,” CEO and Co-Founder Mark Yong said.

Focusing on a different segment is Infinium Robotics, which concentrates on indoor drone applications, mostly for monitoring warehouses, logistics and supply chains. The company has secured trial contracts with some warehouses and formalized partnerships in Singapore and overseas. It also plans to develop software solutions in big data analytics as part of it product range.

“Singapore is a positive brand, associated with being high-tech, clean and efficient. We want to be known as a logistics automation company and Singapore helps bring us to the forefront of that,” said Founder and CEO Jun Yang Woon.
