In starting a business, as the cliché goes, it’s all about location, location, location. While Ferris in Texas may not be top-of-mind when choosing where to set up shop, the city has been working very hard to change minds.

The city, whose population is less than 3,000, benefits a lot from its proximity to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States. Just 20 miles south of downtown Dallas, Ferris offers convenience, lower costs, and a solid community spirit.
Those factors, according to Ferris Chief Economic Development Officer Mike Grace, is what provide the city with its untapped potential.
“Ferris is less than 30 minutes from a range of key features, including three public universities (University of Texas at Dallas, University of North Texas at Dallas, and Texas A&M), two airports, and globally-competitive business districts,” said Grace, who added that the city’s location close to major roads and highways results in the lower transport cost of goods.
“Ferris is a convenient place to live, work and play. The city’s tax incentives, relatively lower cost of living, and collaborative, thriving business community make Ferris the perfect place to be in,” said Grace.
