Located near the geographic center of Texas and a little more than an hour’s drive from Dallas and from Fort Worth, the city of Hillsboro has become one of the fastest-growing economies in the state. In a report by Best Places this year, the number of new jobs grew 2.5% in the last year and, within 10 years, is expected to reach cumulative growth of 38.1%, higher than the national average of 33.5%.

“Our central location is one of our biggest selling points,” said Hillsboro Economic Development Corporation Administrator Arthur Mann, adding that the city’s other draws are its diverse and inclusive community, its all-around good quality of life, its architectural beauty, its highly educated and skilled workforce, and the large amount of available land.
In January 2023, convenience store and gas station chain Buc-ee's broke ground on its new travel center in Hillsboro. The new travel center will occupy 74,000 square feet and have 120 fueling stations.
“Hillsboro is thriving and ready to help your business achieve success. We are ready to talk to everybody,” said Mann, who stressed that the city is deeply committed to support business flourish by providing them with balanced agricultural and urban environment.
The Hillsboro Economic Development Administrator is confident that investors in Hillsboro will experience several benefits in their businesses, as well as in their life outside the office.
