Dubbed the entertainment capital of North Texas, Arlington gets around 49 million visitors every year. The city has spent more than $250 million building world-class sports arenas, theme parks, shopping malls, hotels, and restaurants to keep attracting tourists and investors.

But, according to Mayor Jim Ross, Arlington’s continued economic growth is not assured by its recreational venues, but by its collective ability to develop and nurture relationships that will bring in more business.
“Investors aren't going to come if they can't have a relationship with the community and with your city. We know how to nurture those relationships and we're very excited about the continued growth here in Arlington,” said Ross.
“Arlington is a great place for employees of foreign companies to raise their families. They will find that our residents respect and appreciate each other. We have realized that was critically important to almost every foreign investor. They want to know if their teams will be accepted and valued for who they are. In Arlington, everyone is welcome in our community,” the mayor stressed.
Beyond the business they bring, foreign investors want to feel welcome and see that they have a positive impact on the local community.
“While we want more business, we are equally eager to benefit from different cultures. We want them to come and feel comfortable with who they are and share that with us. People come and stay here because we know how to treat people right,” Ross said.
