Headquartered in Belgrade and with offices in Montenegro and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BDK Advokati is one of Serbia’s highly-rated and experienced law firms for corporate, institutional and HNW clients.

BDK Advokati Founder and Managing Partner Tijana Kojovi?, met with GMI POST for an exclusive interview to talk about her firm’s history, Serbian market of legal services, and its role in building bridges between Japan and Serbia.
Established in 2004, BDK Advokati is a tier-1 law firm that provides high-end legal services, advising clients on commercial and regulatory issues, supporting them in transactions, as well as in dispute resolution, whether through litigation or international commercial arbitration.
Beyond its reputation for excellence, BDK Advokati is very proud of its client-focused and practical approach, which results in tailor-made advice that considers the client's business goals, making the firm a favorite among foreign companies that want to invest in Serbia.
“More than 95% of our clientele are actually foreign companies that operate in Serbia and neighboring countries either through local subsidiaries or on a cross-border basis. We focus on regional and otherwise complex and high-end work” she said.
Aside from multinationals from the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and China, BDK Advokati has worked for Japanese clients, including Sanrio and Yokohama Rubber on the Serbian aspects of its acquisition of wheel systems business from Trelleborg.
“Japanese businesses that do business on an international scale don’t focus on just one specific country but look at the bigger picture,” said Kojovi?, who is proficient in English and conversant in French.
“Whether it is advisory on local laws, transactional support in M&A, financing or greenfield projects, or representation in disputes, foreign investors can get in Serbia the quality of legal service they are used to getting in other more developed market economies”, she also said.
