With more than six decades of building and managing energy and telecommunications projects, Kodar Energomontaza, is the leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company in Southeast Europe. Its president, Nikola Oklobdzija, met with GMI POST to share his thoughts about the company’s mission and its future.

It’s time, according to Oklobdzija, that sustainable energy becomes a priority.
The company chief pointed out that Kodar has been focused on building sources of clean energy as well as the necessary infrastructure needed to connect these new capacities to the grid, to complement the Serbian government’s commitment to transition to “green energy solutions.”
Because they benefit people and the planet, clean energy and sustainable growth have been at the heart of Kodar’s mission in the last few years. As early as 2019, the company set up its first solar facility, on the rooftop of an existing structure This solar power plant now accounts for more than 20% of the facility’s electricity consumption.
“Renewable technologies allow us to generate clean energy that has less impact on the environment than conventional technologies. By increasing our green energy production capacity, we give back to the planet by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, thus responding to the challenge of global warming. We are committed to building a better world and, through great projects, help humanity progress towards a sustainable future and connectivity,” Oklobdzija said.
Encouraged by the fact its facilities improve people’s lives, Kodar is using its acquired knowhow and technology to develop new projects in the fields of telecommunications and energy generation.
