ASIT, or the Association for Computing, Informatics, Telecommunications, is Serbia’s leading information technology organization behind some of the country’s most successful and well-attended IT-related conferences and exhibitions.

“For more than 40 years, ASIT has been at the forefront of presenting the latest scientific and professional achievements in the field of information technology,” ASIT President and Legal Representative Nikola Mirkovic told GMI POST.
Mirkovic pointed out it was ASIT which established industry standards of computer technologies in Serbia and in Southeast Europe and worked with global leaders like Microsoft, Oracle, and Huawei.
ASIT organizes three major conferences every year: Technobank, Infotech, and Smart e-Government. Each one focuses on a specific aspect of information technology and features guest lecturers from all over the world who get to present their latest products, services, ideas, and case studies.
The Technobank Conference tackles on solutions and innovation in the banking industry, while Smart-eGovernment focuses on the digitalization of government. InfoTech, on the other hand, highlights new information and communication technologies in the public sector and security.
Asked about why Serbia is the ideal host for these global IT conferences, Mirkovic stressed that the basic information technology has been deeply integrated into Serbia’s education system. According to Eurostat, computer science is a compulsory subject in Serbia for first graders, while basic programming and data-analysis are introduced as early as the third grade.
For interested participants and exhibitors to ASIT’s upcoming events, the next Technobank conference is set for 29-30 March 2023 at the Crown Plaza in Belgrade. while the next Smart eGovernment conference will be on the 23 November 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel also in Belgrade.
