With the rising popularity of cycling as a healthy and green alternative of getting around and the growing global recognition of its brand, Polygon Bikes feels very confident that its line of bikes can hold its own in the tough European market.

President Director Ronny Liyanto explained: “We want our business to grow and now it’s a global era. We should be a long-term sustainable business and go abroad to achieve sustainability.”
Since its founding 25 years ago in Sidoarjo in East Java, Polygon has gone from being an original equipment manufacturer for other bike makers to becoming one of the leading bike brands in Indonesia.
While OEM manufacturing remains more than 80 percent of its business, Polygon has stepped up efforts to raise brand awareness in Southeast Asia, particularly in neighboring Malaysia and Singapore, and in Australia.
Polygon has also found more distributors in the United States and has taken part in trade fairs, such as Eurobike in Germany. Further boosting its brands, it is also among the sponsors of Australian biking champions Mick and Tracey Hannah of the Hutchinson UR Team.
Having Japan- and German-made bikes as his standard, Liyanto said: “Our priorities are still to increase the quality and technology of our bike and then maybe improve marketing and general development of distribution.”
