Blooming success for Indonesian hotelier

Deriving its name from the Sanskrit word for bouquet, Samali Hotels and Resorts has seen a fast flourishing of its brand of hospitality in Indonesia in only four years with the opening of four properties that meet every traveler’s needs.

Industry veteran and General Manager Sylvain Julien explained: “The strategy is to set our base here in Indonesia to convince people that Samali is a serious and knowledgeable business.”

All renowned for its service, Samali’s brands consist of the five-star Ammi, the four-star Allium, and the mid-range Arum and Azara hotels.

Catering to a wide range of travel-savvy visitors, all its properties have state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to match the most competitive international chains available today.

Counting Garuda Air and Malindo Air as regular clients that book their meetings rooms and ballroom, the Allium Airport Hotel in the city of Tangerang experiences a 95 percent average occupancy on weekdays, and 60 percent average occupancy on weekends.

The hotel group is working on two new projects – the Ammi Ungasan Bali and Ammi Medan – both due to open later this year. A four-story property, Ammi Ungasan Bali will be built on a breathtaking cliff and feature spectacular private villas.

Madagascar-born Julien added: “For the next three years, we will settle the name and individuality of each brand and consider developing more in Indonesia, more than anywhere else. Then we would like to become international.”
